Music Monday: Owl City

Owl City has crafted a new album, All Things Bright and Beautiful, available everywhere May 17. Until then, it’s available for pre-order on his website.

Known for his number one single “Fireflies,” Adam Young has crafted dreamy, optimistic electropop since 2007. He has since worked with numerous other artists, begun an acoustic project Sky Sailing, and filled the lives of millions with a variety of emotions. He has worked with artists such LIGHTS, Breanne Duren, and Relient K. He has gained much popularity after “Fireflies” and “Vanilla Twilight” gained radio time in 2009. He has since toured with LIGHTS, Brooke Waggoner, The Scene Aesthetic, among others. Owl City has been featured on several collections and has been featured in the film Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole.

Thus brings us to 2011 and Owl City’s followup to Ocean Eyes. The new album has been praised as being more mature and eclectic than previous efforts, featuring collaborations with Breanne Duren, LIGHTS, and Shawn Christopher (Matt Theissen is rumored to be on this album as well).

I could go on, but I’ll let Adam Young discuss his album.

Furthermore, there are numerous 30-second clips on Youtube, and full versions of “Alligator Sky (feat. Shawn Christopher)” and “Lonely Lullaby” can also be found streaming.
